How do I choose the right mentor?

Read through the example messages on the home page and see who feels right. Maja is patient and curious — she sits with the difficult. Erik is direct and challenging — he cuts through what's keeping you stuck. Paul is warm and patient — he loosens how you see the situation. Karin zooms out to look at your whole life. There's no wrong choice — pick the one you think would ask the questions you need to hear.

Does the mentor start the conversation, or do I?

The mentor reaches out. You don't need to take the first step. Your mentor's first message arrives once your application has been read and approved. We admit new users gradually, so it may take a few days or weeks. After that, your mentor continues to reach out proactively — not just respond — but you can always get in touch whenever something is on your mind.

What languages do the mentors speak?

Maja, Erik and Karin primarily mentor in Swedish, though they can also converse in English at an intermediate to advanced level. Paul primarily mentors in English, though he can converse in Swedish at an elementary level. If Paul's Swedish isn't quite working for you, he'll offer to help you switch to a native Swedish-speaking mentor.

Do I need to download an app?

No. The service works via SMS, email or the web — depending on what you choose when you sign up. No apps to install, no accounts to manage.

How often does the mentor get in touch?

It varies — this isn't a schedule, it's a relationship. Your mentor usually responds the same day when you write, and reaches out proactively if you've gone quiet for a while. You can also tell your mentor what time of day works best for you, and they'll adapt to fit your rhythm.

What happens if I don't reply for a while?

Your mentor checks in. If you haven't replied to the last message, your mentor will send a natural check-in after a few days — not an automated "we miss you", but a message that picks up where you left off. No pressure, no obligation.

How does the mentor remember what we've talked about?

Your mentor reads your full conversation history every time they respond. Nothing is forgotten. You never have to re-explain where you are or what you're working on — your mentor already knows.

What if the mentor says something that feels wrong?

Say so directly. Your mentor will handle it and adjust. You can also write to support@mentordirekt.se — we want to know when something isn't working so we can improve. All outgoing messages are manually reviewed in the early phase to make sure the quality is right.

Can I switch mentor?

Yes. Write to support@mentordirekt.se and tell us which mentor you'd like to switch to. Or mention it directly in the conversation — your mentor will help you move over.

How do I change when the mentor gets in touch?

Tell your mentor in the conversation — "I prefer to hear from you in the afternoon" is enough. Your mentor will note it and adapt. Our mentors are active 08:00–21:00 on weekdays.

Is the mentor a real person?

No — the mentors are AI personas, carefully crafted from real coaches' philosophy and methods. This is clearly stated on the sign-up page and in the confirmation email. We believe honesty is a prerequisite for trust.

Is this a replacement for therapy?

No. Mentor Direkt is for people who are functioning well and want to move forward — not for acute mental health challenges. If you're struggling psychologically: contact your GP or call the relevant healthcare line in your country. Your mentor is not equipped for crisis or acute situations.

What happens if I'm going through something really hard?

Your mentor will notice and adjust — staying more present, checking in sooner. But if the situation calls for professional clinical support, your mentor will say so directly and point you in the right direction. That's part of how the quality is maintained.

Are my conversations confidential?

Yes. Your conversations are stored securely and not shared with third parties. Org Fwd — the company behind Mentor Direkt — reads a sample of conversations for quality review. This is what makes it possible to maintain a high standard, and it's stated in our privacy policy.

Is my data used to train AI models?

No. Your conversations are never used to train external AI models — including the models that power Mentor Direkt. We use conversation data internally to review and improve mentor quality. That's it.

How long is my data stored?

Your conversation history is kept for as long as your account is active. If you cancel and request deletion, your data is removed. See the privacy policy for details.

Can I download or delete my data?

Yes. Web users can export their conversation directly from the chat interface. SMS users can request an export via support@mentordirekt.se. Deletion is on request — just write to us.

How much does it cost?

The early access price is 99 kr/month. The first 14 days are free — no card required to start. No lock-in.

Will I be charged automatically when the trial ends?

No. We never charge automatically. When the time comes, your mentor sends you a message with a link — you decide whether to continue. Nothing happens without you actively choosing it.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Write to support@mentordirekt.se — we'll cancel immediately, no questions asked. SMS users can also reply STOP in the conversation to unsubscribe right away.

What happens to my conversations if I cancel?

Your conversation history is kept and available for export for 30 days after cancellation. After that it's deleted — unless you request deletion sooner.

Do you offer refunds?

If you experience a technical problem or are unhappy for a reason we should know about — write to us. We assess case by case and refund when it's the right thing to do.

Can I pause my subscription?

Not yet — but it's coming. For now: cancel and sign up again when you're ready. Write to us and we'll save your conversation history.

Does the service work outside Sweden?

The SMS channel works in most countries, though delivery may vary depending on your carrier. The web channel works anywhere with an internet connection. Paul mentors in English and works for users in any country.

What if my SMS doesn't arrive?

Write to support@mentordirekt.se or switch to the web channel — you can always access your conversation via your personal link, which is in your welcome email.

Can I get a new login link?

Yes — it happens. Go to mentordirekt.se/profile, enter your email address and we'll send a new link right away.

Can companies offer Mentor Direkt to their employees?

Yes, this is coming at a later stage. Write to support@mentordirekt.se if you're interested in a pilot arrangement for your organisation.
